Mobile App
To design a functional mobile application, we used Appfurnace. After a short introduction to the website and its features, we were asked to think about we would like to start building the following week. My initial idea was an application called “Stalk your friends”, which allowed the user to walk to different areas and be able see which friends are around them. In addition, it would have allowed the user to connect to their friends’ phones and see their location using a random password generated by the phone they were trying to connect with. There were a couple of downsides of this idea, such as:

• How long will the 2 phones stay connected?
• Could more people be connected to the same phone?
After researching the idea, I realized that Apple has a similar (if not, the same) application already available, which made my idea totally irrelevant, apart from being almost impossible to finish within a week.
So I came up with a different idea, an application called “Find me a friend!”. As similar as the names may sound, this application is based on a game: depending on your chosen mood, color and location, the application should be able to tell you exactly how many other people are feeling the same way in that area. The user can also sign in and talk to different people who are in the same mood.

What is AppFurnace?
AppFurnace is a website that allows the user to create their own mobile apps, giving them control of the design interfaces, locator-experience and the ability to add their own JavaScript code in order to create the desired design or function.
How does it work?
The user must firstly create an account and name their first project, as below.
Then the user can start working on their project as desired.
The menu
Here the user can build and manage pages, buttons, images, features and make links between different pages, as well as introduce the code.
There is also given a map which allows the user to set different parameters for their app to activate a certain function when the user walks into different locations.
My first creation in AppFurnace, while trying to discover what different tools do.
